Interfacing
WinCan's Powerful Inspection Reporting Now Available to Municipalities.
WinCan Interface to Hansen by Neztek (WIHN), a standalone, PC-based application from WinCan America, interfaces WinCan inspection reporting software with Hansen's Neztek Data Exchange Utility (NDEU), a portal to the Hansen IMS database. With WIHN and NDEU (available separately from Hansen), a municipality can leverage the reporting power of WinCan software, migrating report data efficiently to their Hansen IMS database. Developed by WinCan America to interface with Hansen's NDEU, WIHN makes large-scale inspection documentation and archiving easy and intuitive.
Technical Description. Hansen's NDEU exports Hansen work order information to a Microsoft Access file. WIHN then converts the file into a WinCan project database, providing work order information and other pipe header data needed to complete work orders and finish inspections. Upon completion of inspection with WinCan software, WIHN converts collected data back to a Microsoft Access file. In doing so, it validates data against Hansen tables where appropriate to insure integrity. The NDEU can then be used to transfer work order information and inspection results back to the Hansen.
Harnessing the power of WIHN is simple. Once the NDEU is installed by a Hansen representative or administrator, the user creates a sample report and emails it to WinCan. With the report, engineers at WinCan build a custom version of WinCan software containing all of the user's Hansen codes, observation descriptions, severity levels and detail. From this version of the software, the engineers provide a sample project file for upload to the NDEU. This file is independently approved by Neztek Systems Ltd. (developer of the Neztek Utility) and Hansen Technologies. This ensures the data integrity before the customized WinCan application is delivered for customer use.
WinCan also interfaces with GBA Master Series and Maximo. Plus, PDM can also build a custom link to work with your applications.
